Catriona Downie

Catriona is Head of Marketing of Scottish Opera, having been appointed as its Marketing Manager in 2009. From 2005 to 2009, she was the Scottish Opera Senior Marketing and Press Officer - Touring and Education. Prior to that (in the summers of  2004 and 2005) Catriona was Press Officer for the Edinburgh Festival. Catriona has a firstclass honours degree in History from the University of Glasgow.  She was Co-Director in 2001 of Glasgow Madrigirls, an award-winning choir for upper voices based at Glasgow University. Catriona, in a voluntary role, is responsible for creating, devising and planning a range of concerts and tours alongside marketing, finance, fundraising and the press. She is responsible for the marketing of Scottish Opera’s very varied activities and her current role has particular responsibility for audience development, outreach, fundraising and brand development.
